From 1996 to 1999, I
voraciously pursued the craft of web copywriting. Then, in the
year 2000, I was hired as the Lead Web Copywriter, and later
Director of Creative Web Writing, at Aesop Marketing Corporation

hour), I raised my hourly rate to $100, and the demand for my

that are mere online brochures, communication tools, customer
service vehicles or information outlets -- are willing to pay top
dollar to have expert web copy written. Why? Because the

Some
people who don't know the value of expertly written web copy are often shocked to find out that a web copywriter's hourly fees are as high as lawyers' fees. One of my clients put it in perspective as
follows: He said he'd rather spend $200 or more per hour on a copywriter who is skilled in writing web
copy that sells, rather than spend the same rate on a lawyer. His
reason? "A 'killer copywriter' makes me money -- my lawyer doesn't.
My lawyer is an expense -- while a killer copywriter is one of the best
investments I can make in my business."
